How can Diet and Lifestyle advice Help me?

We know that what we eat is fundamental to our overall health, yet we live in a fast-paced world where there are so many stressors placed on us.

This can, very often lead to us making very unhealthy choices when it comes to food, where convenience, rather than the healthy option wins.

Very often, by the time I see clients in the clinic, they can be suffering from long-term symptoms of pathological conditions, which are making them miserable. Often, some kind of digestive complaint is playing a role in the overall pathology.

Nutrition Advice as part of Treatment

Some of the conditions I see and treat in the clinic, which have their roots in poor digestive health are:

  • Acid Reflux

  • Colitis

  • Constipation

  • Bloating

  • Fluid Retention

  • Gas

  • Gout

  • Heartburn

  • Inability to loose weight

  • Intolerance to specific foods

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome

  • Pain associated with Hiatal hernia

  • Skin problems due to diet, such as dry skin

  • Symptoms associated with Chrons Disease and Ulcerative Colitis

Other issues can be associated with stress in terms of stress being the driving factor in making poor diet and nutrition choices.

Acupuncture can help treat many of these conditions and help alleviate symptoms associated with long-term chronic digestive diseases and complaints. Very importantly, it can help with motivation and energy levels, which provides a better space for the client being able to make good nutrition choices.

Along with diet and nutrition advice, and the diagnosis of an individual from a Chinese Medicine point of view, this means that we can use specific foods and some supplements (which have been extensively studied in Chinese Medicine) to tackle certain conditions, improve health and provide long-term relief from distressing symptoms. We can provide and individually tailored approach to suit the client, as opposed a one size fits all approach

Relaxation Important for Good Health

Lifestyle

In our modern world, where more, more, more is often the motto we live by, this can take a huge toll on our health. Stress can be different things for different people and what might be intensely stressful for one person, may be quite the opposite for the next person.

In the clinic, I create a safe space where clients can talk openly and confidentially about what may be going on in their life that is causing them a lot of distress and leading to their current state of stress and ill-health.

While I can't solve many of their problems, I can provide some of the tools and ancient wisdom that Chinese Medicine has cultivated over thousands of years, to help make small changes that can improve their mental/emotional and physical health.

Sometimes clients may just need some space to talk about their stress or ill health, which they often don't get the opportunity to do, or may never have done before. Shining a light on something that has remained in the dark for a long time can have a powerful effect for a client. It can help them see something from a different perspective and give them the opportunity to move forward, into a happier place.
